Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets forth how information, including personally identifiable information (“User Information”) that the RAML Workgroup (“We”, “Us”, “Our”) may obtain about you through the use of RAML.org (“RAML.org”). User information is collected, used and disclosed for the benefit of the RAML community. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your Personal Information, and how you can access and update this information. The RAML.org website is operated by MuleSoft Inc., who is the data controller and processor. MuleSoft does this to support the RAML Workgroup and community. By using this site and services you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Do not use our site and services if you disagree with our Privacy Policy practices.

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes to our information practices. Please check back frequently, especially before you submit any User Information on RAML.org, to see if our Privacy Policy has changed. If we make any material changes to our policy, we will notify you by means of a notice on RAML.org. By using RAML.org, you indicate your understanding and acceptance of the terms of the Privacy Policy posted at the time of your use. User Information Collected.

You have control over your User Information, but our site includes instances where we must have your User Information in order for us to grant you access to content, to assist us in providing you support or services. The site does contain third party services that are not under our control; in such instances, their Privacy Policy may govern information provided on them. When you provide us with User Information, we collect, use, and disclose it in the ordinary course of our business in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
This information may include:

  1. Personal Information for registration and access, such as your name, company, address, email address, phone number, title, that you provide directly when you register on RAML.org, make online requests, join an online community or group, or inquire about software or projects on our site,
  2. Personal Information that you provide in the process of registering or participating for services, training, event, user group, or conference that may be offered through this site.
  3. Passively Collected Information, including through the use of "cookies" or other similar technologies as described below, such as IP addresses, web browser and operating system information, date and time of visits, and the web pages your internet browser visits when browsing any sites and services; click-through information related to our emails and related marketing activities; and aggregate, non-Personal Information, such as the number of hits per week or per web page.

##Use and Disclosure of User Information.

We intend to use User Information for purposes of supporting your relationship with us, which may entail sites and services that are suitable to your needs and alerting you to products, projects or service offerings as they become available. If you decide that we should not use your personal User Information to contact you, please let us know and we will not use that information for such purpose. Do not submit any User Information if you are less than 18 years of age.

We may use user Information for the following purposes: communicating with you, provision services, performing marketing activities directly or through a business partner and otherwise communicating information regarding our services (where permitted by law); providing registration for and participation in training, projects, events and conferences.

We primarily store User Information in the United States. To facilitate our global operations, we may transfer and access such information outside the United States or European Economic Area. In case we transfer data from one country to another, this Privacy Policy shall apply. You hereby agree that we may disclose and share User Information to its affiliates, subsidiaries, third party business partners, and service providers only in ways described in this privacy policy. In situations where we disclose user Information to any third parties acting as service providers or “agents” on behalf of us. We will require the recipient to protect and only use the disclosed User Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. No personal information will be disclosed to other third parties that are not described in this Privacy Policy without your prior consent.

We reserve the right to use or disclose information provided as required by law such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process, or if it reasonably believes in good faith that use or disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, to protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all of a portion of our assets, you will be notified via a prominent notice on our site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

When you use our site, we obtain information about you from third party sources to identify your state and country, so we may better understand our audience.

##Do we use cookies?

As is true of most sites, we gather certain information automatically and store them in log files. This information may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. We may combine this automatically collected log information with other information we collect about you. We do this to improve the services we offer you.

The RAML.org site and our third party partners such as affiliates and service providers use technologies such as E-Tag, JavaScript, Local Storage, web beacons and cookies. By using our sites, you accept the use of these tracking technologies.

E-Tag is a technology that is part of the standard HTTP protocol that allows our sites to validate temporary storage (cache) of our pages and images. This ensures that you are viewing the latest version of our site since your last visit.

JavaScript is a dynamic object oriented computer programming language. JavaScript is used to understand user behavior on our Sites.

Local Storage (LS) such as HTML5 are used to store content information and preferences. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML5 LSs.
Web beacons are a clear graphic image of 1x1 pixel that is delivered through a web browser usually as part of a webpage request or an email. Web beacons operate as a tag that records an end users interaction with a web site or email.

Cookies are small data files that a web site can generate and transfer to a visitor’s computer or another device. A cookie contains information such as your username and password that helps us recognize the pages you have visited, improve user experience and future visits, and can be used for a lot of different purposes. A cookie cannot read data off your hard drive or read cookie files created by other web sites. ##Newsletters and Marketing

You may signup to receive newsletters. We may occasionally send promotional communication (“Marketing”) to you as well. Out of respect for your privacy, you may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or Marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails.

Single Sign-on

You can use certain features on our sites by using sign-in services such as Facebook Connect, Google, Twitter, Yahoo, Saleforce or an Open ID provider. These services will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with us such as your name and email address to pre-populate our sign up form. Services like Facebook Connect and Twitter give you the option to post information about your activities on our sites to your profile page to share with others within your network.

Service Providers

We may share your personal information with companies that provide services to help us with our business activities. These companies are authorized to use your Personal Information only as necessary to provide these services to us.


We are concerned with the security of your User Information and are committed to taking reasonable steps to protect it from unauthorized access and use of that personal information. To that end, we put in place the appropriate physical, electronic and managerial policies and procedures designed to secure your personal User Information. We encrypt the transmission of your sensitive personal information including your login credentials. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is one hundred percent secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Individuals may contact the Privacy Contact identified below to review User Information about them. We reserve the right to take reasonable steps to authenticate the identity of any such individual seeking access to User Information.

##Access, Usernames and Passwords.

Access to certain content on our sites may be allowed under a written agreement between you and us, and may require a username or password issued by us. In some cases, failure to provide Personal Information may prevent you from accessing certain Services. By accessing and using our protected and secured site, you agree to maintain the confidentiality of the username and password you selected to access such site(s) and consent to our standard terms and conditions applicable to the Services.


Although we are not obligated to do so, we may review your communications with respect to the sites and services to determine whether you comply with the applicable terms of services. We will not have any liability or responsibility for the content of any communications you provide, or for any errors or violations of any laws or regulations by you.

External Links.

Our site displays links to other third party sites. Even if the third party is affiliated with us through a business partnership or otherwise, we are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices or the content of such external links. These links are provided to you for convenience purposes only and you access them at your own risk.


We offer publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information you provide on these blogs and forums may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal information from our blog, community forum, or to have an unauthorized profile removed. Please contact us at privacy@raml.org. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why. Our site also connect to blogs and forums hosted on third-party sites, we do not control these sites, All information and postings on the blogs and forums may be governed by privacy policies of the third party service providers.

##Safe Harbor Certification

We comply with the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S. - Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, transfer and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland. We have certified that we adhere to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our site, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

##Access to Information and Choice

If your personal information changes you may email us to have it corrected, updated, amended or removed at privacy@raml.org or send the inquiry by postal mail at the address listed below. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time. We will retain your information for as long as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
